Born August 17th 2004 to Ben
& Lilli
Here was the first report of Mason's arrival from
Ben:
Hi everybody - the beautiful Lee baby (name
tbd) was born happy & healthy @ 8:05 AM. He weighed in at 8 lbs 5 oz, and is
20 1/2 inches tall. Lilli is feeling tired but great, and the baby is
sleeping now.

Proud new Grandmother Barbara's first report
Just to let you know Big Baby Lee was born
at 8:05AM today, August 17th. He was 8.5 (see the connection between the
weight and the date?) and mother, daddy, baby, auntie and grandparents are all
doing fine.
Hooray!!!!
Great Uncle & Aunt (David & Sonny) offer
congratulations
Congratulations to all that had a hand in
this production. Oscar's and Emmy's
for Sure. We heard that this boy came into
the world at 8.5 lbs and even a
correction to 7.5. Whatever, we are so
happppy for the Mother and Father,
Aunts and Uncles, Laws and In-Laws,
Grandparents all and even for the
Great Grand Parents on either side of the
aisle.
We aren't too sure of the Baby's Name.
Little Boy Lee is OK w/ us.
Just as long as he has a permanent moniker
before Kindergarten.
Love and Long Life to all involved.
Congratulations again, David and Sony
The new Grandfather Michael was next to report...
As many of you have already heard I
just became a grandfather for the first time today August 17, 2004. It is a
boy sharing a birthday with Mae West, Davy Crockett and Robert DeNiro. I
don't know whether he'll be a Raging Bull, or a hero at the Alamo, but I do
know that the prospects are for a new member of the Generation 4 who will hold
his own with that growing group which I believe now numbers 7 and will soon
grow some more. The new name is not yet set, so Baby Boy Lee will have to go
a few more hours with an identity crisis, but I am happy to report that all
systems appear to be in order with I am sure a Harris predilection to make the
diaper makers rich. We are all grateful that the mother and son are healthy
and that the future looks bright and hopeful for all that may come. Love from
the blessed grandpappy. MH

From the proud Mom after exactly one week of
motherhood...
My first week as a new mother has been one
filled with wonderment, exhaustion, gratitude and joy. It's made me thankful for
things I've always taken for granted: a working washer/dryer, the time to sit
and read portions of the newspaper, sleeping for more than two hours in a row...
I'm in awe of this tiny person that, in the course of a few minutes, went from
living inside of me to resting next to me. I can't wait until our Mason starts
to develop his personality, to learn to speak and walk and grow but I'm enjoying
this time, too- even though the nights are hard and I miss my sleep, I love
watching him and proud to call him my son!

Lilli explains the origins of Mason's name
Ben and I wanted to honor all of the
grandparents since this baby is the first grandchild born to both sets. So, we
chose the name Mason because we wanted an 'm' name to honor Ben's grandfather
Milton. Mason's middle name, Frederic, was in honor of my mother's brother
Frederic who died before I was born.

Great Aunt Linda points out...
Mason is the 9th member of the Harris family's
Generation Number 4 with Vicky still carrying the 10th member of this exclusive
club!
Mason's First Tea
Today marked a milestone in Mason's life:
his first Sunday Tea! I didn't realize it until as we were leaving but luckily
my camera was in the bag so we could properly document the occasion. Present
were: David, Sonny, Ben, Mimi, Lizzie, Brooke, Jake, Max and myself. Tea was
divided amongst the sexes for the first part of tea- boys in the pool, girls
on the patio. Once sandwiches arrived and the party co-mingled, conversation
was mostly political and centered around Bush's appeal to the masses while
Kerry only seemed to reach the upper crust of society. We also briefly
discussed Mimi's non-realization that she's committed herself to an affair
next Sunday late afternoon which falls on one of her key television dates of
the year: the Emmy's. Too bad Zeze won't yet be back in town to assist her
with the vcr but I assured her she'll be back in time to watch the show so she
needn't worry.
That's about it... hope you all have a great
week!
xoox,

Mason Frederic Lee Waves to All!
